LIC to launch credit card in September

The credit card business seems to be attracting everyone to it. Joining the long list of new credit card launches, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) announced that it will launch its own credit card in September this year.

LIC will partner with GE Money and call its new business LIC Card Services. LIC plans to allow its customers to pay Insurance premiums through the credit card and also extend unsecured loans. Existing insurance agents of LIC will also be marketing the new credit cards once its launched. It remains to be seen how many of the 19 crore policy holders will subscribe for this credit card.
