New Online Security Feature for Credit Card transactions: Explained

Verifiied by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode As per a notification by the RBI, starting August 1, 2009 your online transaction will require an additional security measure. As per the current process you are only required to provide your full name, date of birth, credit card number and CVV number. As of August 1 you will need an additional password to complete your online transactions.
This password verification process is provided by VBV (Verified By VISA) and MSC (MasterCard SecureCode.

If you have a Visa credit card you can go to the VISA website and register your credit card
If you have a MasterCard you can go to the MasterCard website and register your credit card.

The next time you plan to make an online purchase ensure you remember your password that you created at the above websites.
